Tonight streaming live on Rokfin it all goes between heated rivals Milton and Stoughton. Every year these two teams have a competitive dual that gets both communities out in full force where blood boils and ears ring at how loud and intense the dual meet gets. A heated rivalry with rich wrestling traditions and passionate fans is all I ask for on a Friday night. To say I am excited for this one is an understatement.
Tonight’s matchup is going to see multiple highly ranked wrestlers for both teams. INCLUDING the 220 pound #1 wrestler in the state and #2 on our P4P Aeoden Sinclair and at heavyweight #1 and #18 on our P4P Griffin Empey! I believe that it is LIKELY we see him bump up to heavyweight to take on #1 Empey. I do not know if this will happen for sure, but I know Sinclair always wants to wrestle the best and Empey is. This match alone makes this a dual you cannot miss.
Milton comes into the dual with 5 ranked wrestlers in the state and Stoughton has 4. Only one head to head matchup on paper, but I have a feeling there will be some gamesmanship in tonight’s dual and both coaches will explore the idea of shifting lineups. Looking at both teams’ most recent lineups from the Devil Duals last weekend on paper it looks they will both have two forfeits. However, Milton would be forfeiting at 138 and 145 which is where Stoughton has two of their 4 ranked wrestlers. #3 Suddeth and #8 Sarbacker. I would not be shocked to see someone step into the lineup to take those forfeits and bump the two ranked wrestlers up.
If that happens then we would have a ranked matchup at 152 and #4 Royce Nilo, a returning state medalist, would await a challenger.
This dual could definitely come down to the wire and it will be important for both teams to win the draw and see who has to show first. I am not sure what the game plan is for either side, but I know there is one.
I can’t wait for this matchup tonight and I know Coach Yauch of Milton and Coaches Spilde and Empey of Stoughton will have their boys buzzin before the first whistle tonight.
Stoughton and Milton fans as you always do every year, pack the gym tonight and make it loud. This is a premiere dual in the state of Wisconsin and tonight’s matchup between these two rivals is no different.
