Another Wisconsin native is bringing home gold from Zagreb Open, and this time it’s Stephen Buchanan. In the finals, he defeated Hassan Yazdani by tech fall, 13–1. Yazdani is a former senior level world champion and a 2024 Olympic silver medalist.
En route to the title, Stephen also notched wins over U23 bronze medalist Vicky and U20 bronze medalist Viskhanov in the semifinals.
