Tonight #11 UW Parkside Rangers will host its first conference matchup against #20 Northern State Wolves. This marks Parkside’s third season as part of the NSIC conference. They are now 1-1 against Northern State after getting the victory over them last year.
Both years this has been a very competitive dual and I would expect nothing less this time around. This will be the first time the Rangers get to host Northern State so I expect the fans to make it memorable. This dual will see some highly ranked wrestlers, but each at separate weight classes. To me this means, it will be a back and forth dual that will likely come down to bonus points.
After pulling his redshirt against Whitewater, keep an eye on freshman Shane Corrigan at 125 pounds. He has had a strong start to his season and tonight he will have his first crack at a conference opponent. He will be facing an experienced senior Landen Fischer, who started for the Wolves last year and finished 6th at the regional.
Each of these conference matches mean a little more for the individuals wrestling, as this will now play a factor to their seeds at the end of year regional tournament to go to Nationals.
Listen up Ranger nation. It’s Friday night and the Parkside Rangers sell beer at the dual meet. The Rangers have a conference showdown in their home gym so it’s time to show up, be loud, and voice your support at 7pm.
